Based on the way this brush looks I was expecting the body of it to be made out of metal, but it feels like that type of plastic that’s made to look like metal. It honestly makes the brush feel cheap. It feels lighter than a pencil. I personally like heavier brushes.The bristles on this brush are also very stiffThis is a beautiful, well-made brush. I had no idea kolinsky brushes were used for nails. I found out about these lovely brushes when my teen-aged granddaughter expressed an interest in doing her own nails at home. I purchased a starter kit for her and the synthetic brushes that came with it were not of the best quality. When I looked for something better, I found these brushes and after buying a few for my granddaughter, I decided to order some for my own use. Not for nails, but for my watercolor painting and other art projects. I noticed that the quality seems to be all over the place, sometimes even within the same brand. I would say that this one is one of the nicer ones that I have tried. I ordered a size 12, and the hairs are densely packed, neatly trimmed and well anchored within the oval crimped ferrule. The hairs seem to be of high quality and hold a considerable amount of water (my test for non-synthetic brushes). The brush head is easy to reshape. The handle is light-weight and short (a good thing, IMO) and very well balanced. I really like the pretty design and I like that the cap is not just a plastic sheath, but is metal, as is the handle, and I can place it over the other end while using the brush. I'm really happy with the design of this brush with the lovely colors and raised gold tracing. It arrived nicely boxed and suitable for gifting. I think it is worth the current price of $23.99I used the brush to begin practicing how to apply acrylic nails.I love that it comes in a little pen-like casing but it was a bit hard to get the brush back in without crushing the bristles. Bristles are very soft, well made, do not shed. And it comes clean after use without much hassle, really a great product.You just cannot go wrong with Melody Susie. It's perfect t for acrylic nail application. I plan to order atleast 2 other sizes. Love the size.of my bead with this brush.This brush works well. It comes in its own box which makes it perfect for gifting. The brush is light weight and packaged in a protective plastic tube. It also has a protective cap to cover the brush head. But the alloy handle feels off balance and I did not like the raised decorations on the surface.My daughter and I are new to doing nails but we really like this brush. It's alloy and very lightweight, so if you prefer a heavier feel- then this one isn't for you. I actually like the weight and we're able to get good pearls with it. Our kolinsky brushes work so much better than the cheap ones we have, but some have actually shed more with us. But not this one. It seemed high for one brush so I priced them but the price is right for this size and quality. We recommend it!
